Fishing for Compliments
Mrs. Brooks likes to periodically recognize the teachers for a job well done or a compliment given by a parent. We keep $25.00 gift cards on hand for her to give to these teachers. Please consider donating as much as you are comfortable with to this endeavor. The teachers are always thrilled to be recognized, and excited to receive a little "bonus". If you are unable to give a monetary gift, please consider complimenting a teacher to Mrs. Brooks so that your teacher can be considered for the gift card. This is a great way to show the teachers we really appreciate the time and effort they put into teaching our kids.

Doodle 4 Google Winner - Vote May 7-20
We are excited to announce that Community House 8th Grade Student, Penelli Yang is this year's NC Doodle 4 Google winner. Google came out and surprised Penelli and her family with a Google celebration at our school friday. This year's theme was, What inspires me most? Her picture (attached picture is of Penelli, her doodle, and art teacher Jamie Julian) shows food and she explained how food and meal times bring her family together where they share their day and thoughts with each other and how she treasures that time. She created her artwork using an Ipad and pen. The detail is amazing. Voting for the National Winner begins on Monday, May 7 and continues for 14 days. You can vote more than once but only one time per device. We would love to get the word out so as many people as possible could vote for her. We are really proud. This is the 2nd time in 3 years we produced a NC state Doodle Google Winner!!
