Thank you so much to all the families who came through for us in our desperation for proctors. We made it through the major testing days with enough volunteers to cover every testing location. We will be wrapping up all testing next week with our CTE exams, Math I and II exams and final make-ups for students who were absent. Our preliminary results that have come back thus far look very good. We are not permitted to release scores yet but will hopefully be able to give you a preliminary score for your child next week. Again, thank you for all your help with state testing!!
Next week we will also begin some of our end-of-year celebrations. Our PTO has provided our 6th and 7th grade students with an afternoon at the ice cream truck (on Wednesday or Thursday depending upon their team) and our 8th graders will have their Social on Friday evening. These will be fun events for all of the kids and a great way to wrap up the school year. Yearbooks were distributed today and students will be given time to sign these throughout the week as well. Please make sure your child puts his or her name on the yearbook as, each year, one or two are lost.
Our 8th grade Promotion Ceremonies will take place on June 10th and 11th. These are NOT graduation ceremonies. All students will receive a promotion certificate and a few will receive special recognition for outstanding achievement and/or improvement. The ceremonies are generally a little over an hour in length. Please keep guests to a minimum as the gym cannot accommodate large crowds.
Final report cards will be mailed home on June 15. If you have any questions about final grades, please contact me or Ms. Milano, as teachers will be home for the summer. Enjoy your last two weeks!!
Nurse Kluxen would like to remind familes that your consent and written authorization from a licensed healthcare provider are required when
it is necessary for your child to receive either prescription or non-prescription medicines in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools
Invention Project is a new kind of experience for 6th through 8th graders only. During this fun and high-energy program you'll team up to make the impossible possible.
Bring a team of friends or team up with new freinds as you get started.
